Social Media Influencer Arrested Over Disrespectful Content Towards Women

Inbanidhi, a 30-year-old influencer hailing from Pudukottai, faced legal consequences following the circulation of his controversial videos disrespecting women, triggering an outcry on social media platforms.

Known for his 'mono-acting' videos under the pseudonym 'Inba’s track,' his recent video, focusing on the significance of women wearing dupattas, became a focal point of social media outrage due to its alleged disrespectful portrayal of women.
The Cyber Crime cell received complaints citing his videos' offensive nature, prompting a thorough review. Subsequently, a case was filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Sections 294(b) and 509, along with Sections 67, 67A, and 67B of the Information Technology Act, coupled with relevant clauses of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. The scrutinized content was deemed offensive and disrespectful, resulting in Inbanidhi's arrest and subsequent judicial remand.
Inbanidhi's online presence boasted a substantial following with 193,000 subscribers on YouTube and 82,000 followers on Instagram. His arrest ignited discussions regarding social media responsibilities, ethical content creation, and the accountability of influencers, stirring debates across various online platforms.
